About us

TransWorld film group is a California corporation based in Los Angeles and London.
We combine decades of producing mainstream feature films and television content at the highest level, with the experience of designing and implementing innovative, cutting edge film programs at one of the largest film schools in the US. Because of our production background, we have relationships with top filmmakers and have brought together a core group with the ability to communicate their art and craft effectively.
We have long-standing, and friendly relationships with all the equipment house owners from whom we rent or purchase equipment.

EDUCATION & TRAINING

We design and teach a variety of film making courses. From an “introduction to film production” to a “ basic foundation in film making” to in-depth film making courses. These courses explore all the major disciplines involved in film and television production. We understand that the basis of all effective film making grows from a thorough understanding of the structure and content of story. Consequently, story is the life-blood of every course we teach. With story as the platform, we teach methodologies and practices that are the foundations of filmmaking in Hollywood and Europe. We also offer courses that are specific to all the major disciplines:

Producing, Production Management, Screenwriting, Directing, Cinematography, Production Design, Editing, Music in Film.

INTERNATIONAL

Instruction is in English, in courses other than the introductory one. This is in recognition of the desire of emerging filmmakers to create content that can be distributed and seen internationally without the need for sub-titles. This does not preclude filmmakers from creating content in their own language; it simply offers them the opportunity to move into the international arena.

CREATIVITY AND ORGANIZATION

We motivate and nurture the development of imagination and the means by which it can be channeled into impactful and effective visual storytelling. We also understand the liberating aspects of efficient organization and production. Contrary to the oft heard perspective that production management restricts the creative film maker, we know full well the degree to which efficient and collaborative planning and organization provide the imaginative film maker a degree of freedom they would otherwise not experience. Wasted resources due to lack of planning and inefficient organization seriously restrict the filmmaker’s palette. We cultivate collaboration and communication to make this a reality.

Ariel Levy...

Who holds 40 years of motion picture production experience, has served as the Chief Executive Officer since the company has been founded. Mr. Levy has combined his rich experience of major feature film production experience with more than 10 years heading the Los Angeles Film School to create an innovative educational pedagogy for the art and craft of visual storytelling. His approach is to treat visual storytelling as a new global language that transcends all barriers. He is actively consulting with Asian and African countriesto initiate film schools that will train film makers to create content for global distribution and to establish open cultural connectivity.
